A favorite coin memory from Debbie:
Our family’s 4th of July tradition included getting to the parade route extra early to claim the best viewing spot along the curb. I eagerly awaited the moment when I would dash out into the middle of the parade to throw coins into the big tarp, with all of that loose change going to local organizations. I always considered that my patriotic participation, and a thrill to be on the same parade route in which my mom was the parade queen during her teenage years.
